Pure Homemade Ghee in Instant Pot with just 1 ingredient!
Yes, Ghee in Instant Pot can be made quickly with just 1 ingredient – unsalted BUTTER.
Using Pure Desi Ghee, without any additives, for making your recipes has great importance, as its results are priceless. So, making your own Ghee at home is worthwhile, especially so if you’re living out of India, as you know there’s nothing else in it except butter.
Instant Pot Ghee without Stirring or Monitoring…
Traditional way of making Ghee from scratch at home is a long and time-consuming process, that needs constant stirring and monitoring.
But when making Desi Ghee in Instant Pot you don’t need to do any of that. Instant Pot makes the process of making Homemade Ghee extremely easy and fast.
You just need to add unsalted butter in inner pot and set the time, that’s it. After the time is up and pressure has released naturally, your Homemade Pure Ghee will be ready, just like that!
This super simple method of using Instant Pot to make Ghee will free up your valuable time, as you can set it and forget and Homemade Ghee from butter will be done without stirring, monitoring or burning.
The only thing then left to do is strain the liquid while its still warm and then let it cool down completely.
Just a couple of points to remember when making Clarified Butter in Instant Pot are that after you open the Instant Pot lid, you should see a CLEAR liquid and milk solids should have turned BROWN.
If the liquid is not CLEAR or there are traces of butter and milk solids are still pale, you need to cook for a couple of minutes more using Saute – Normal till the liquid is CLEAR and milk solids have turned BROWN. This might sometimes happen as the temperature of the butter can vary slightly depending on the individual refrigerator setting, and colder butter might take a little longer to melt and cook. So always make sure that the liquid is CLEAR and milk solids are BROWN before continuing with straining.
Another thing to remember is to remove the inner pot after the pressure has released naturally and float valve has dropped down. This will prevent the Ghee (Sajuk Tup) from cooking further and burning.
If your unsalted butter is too cold due to your refrigerator settings, you might get a burn signal. In that case press cancel, wait for a couple of minutes and then again select Soup setting but reduce the time and only cook for whatever time was left before the burn signal appeared. Next time while making Ghee in Instant Pot remove the butter out of refrigerator 5 mins before you start making Ghee.
The strained liquid (Ghee) will become thicker and lighter in colour as it cools down and you will end up with having a delicious, golden yellow coloured Pure Ghee that has nice grainy texture and wonderful aroma!
Spread this delicious, granular Homemade Ghee on top of your chapatis and parathas or drizzle on top of your rice and dals or use it for tadkas or for frying or making Indian desserts and sweets and relish....
Store this staple ingredient of Indian cuisine in an airtight container in a cool, dark place and use it for cooking as and when needed.
